About Us
Our Story
After returning to New York from a two-month voyage to West Africa, our founder, Charlotte Fall, was inspired to launch a coffee brand that used traditional Senegalese coffee. This truly unique blend was a melding of her childhood experiences in Senegal and a nod to New York City to create 9 A.M. Somewhere.
Touba Coffee
In the modern country of Senegal, there is a long-standing tradition of coffee. Touba coffee, named after the holy city, was founded by a spiritual leader Cheikh Amadou Bamba. The special ingredient is Selim Pepper, called Djar in the local language Wolof. Selim Pepper is an aromatic spice with a robust, sweet, and slightly peppery flavor. It is what makes Senegalese coffee unique and what sets 9 A.M. Somewhere apart from the rest.
Health Benefits
Selim Pepper is known to have several health benefits, including:
Antioxidants
Anti-inflammatory properties
Aids in digestion
Contains piperine which stimulates the production of endorphins
Considered a natural antidepressant
